BARCELONA: easyJet aircraft on the tarmac
POLICE have charged a man with being drunk on an aircraft after easyJet flight EZY7208 from Barcelona to Liverpool was forced to divert to Bristol Aiport.
Daniel Fletcher, of McNeill Avenue, Crewe, was released on bail to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on 5 October.
Three others arrested – two men aged 21 and 29 and a 26-year-old woman – have been released with no further action taken.
Officers from Avon and Somerset Police have appealed for anyone who may have filmed the incident on their mobile phones or any other devices, to get in touch by calling them on 101 and quoting reference number 5217216307.
Airline eayJet said, “Cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
“Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour on board and always push for prosecution.
“The safety and well-being of passengers and crew is always easyJet’s priority.”
