Habaneras Shopping Centre takes action on World Alzheimer’s Day

Habaneras Shopping Centre

ON  21 September, the Habaneras Shopping Centre will launch a fund-raising initiative to adapt a microbus for the Alzheimer’s Association of Relatives / Friends of Torrevieja.

The Habaneras Shopping Centre, managed by CBRE, is showing its charitable side by taking action on World Alzheimer’s Day on 21 September.

Every year, CBRE runs a Corporate Social Responsibility programme, and this year it is focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and its impact on society.

To do this, on September 21 there will be a national press conference to announce, among other things, a crowdfunding platform called www.donatusrecuerdos.org; with which CBRE intends to support all the causes with which it collaborates, through the shopping centres it manages, and to contribute to the fight againt the disease.

Most specifically, the Habaneras Shopping Centre and AFA Torrevieja (a local association that works to meet the real needs of families and patients, to raise awareness of society and public and private bodies, and support investigation) are collaborating to raise funds to adapt a microbus for the Association. The bus is needed to provide members suffering from Alzheimer with a vehicle to take them to the centre every day, where their needs can be met. Many disabled victims of this disease can currently not attend the centre.

From September 21 to 30, both institutions will carry out several initiatives, such as a charitable photo call at the Habaneras shopping centre.

Visitors attending the centre during this time are invited to go along to the Habaneras Shopping Centre, and to the AFA to take part in the initiative, either with a cash donation or through the microsite. They will also be able to buy souvenir photos from the charitable photo call. For each photo shared instantly on social networks with the hashtags #habaneras_donarerecuerdos #donarerecuerdos, the shopping centre will donate €1 to AFA Torrevieja and contribute even more money to the cause.

The Habaneras shopping centre will be helped by volunteers from the association, who will tell everyone what they need to know about this, and the donation system.

The activity, which will launch on Thursday, September 21 at 17.30, at the Habaneras Shopping Centre, is an excellent way for us all to support those directly or indirectly affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
