AIR MALTA will fly twice weekly to Malaga from summer 2018.
This will be the first time that Air Malta will operate flights to the Costa del Sol and also marks the return of Air Malta flights to Spain.
The new route will also be ideal for those travelling to and from Gibraltar according to the airline. A large number of expats who work in the iGaming industry frequently travel between Malta and the British Overseas Territory for business.
Paul Sies, the Chief Commercial Officer of Air Malta, stated that he is thrilled that the airline is returning to Spain and that more routes will be announced for summer 2018.
Once dominated by British rule, Malta became a republic in 1974 and has remained a firm favourite for expats and tourists alike. Situated virtually in the centre of the Mediterranean, Malta is the main island in an archipelago that also includes Gozo and Comino. Around 400,000 people currently inhabit the main island, of which an estimated 5,000 are British expatriates.
