Here’s the plan to save Triple A

One little girl makes friends at Triple A.

I’M going to get straight to the point.

Last week we learnt that Triple A, Marbella’s only animal shelter, is in dire need of immediate funds to cope with the more than 500 cats and dogs in their care.

The mission is clear, our community needs to raise a cool €30k to bring them ‘up to date.’ Thanks to Susi Berman a Go Fund Me campaign ‘Help Save Triple A’ has been started with over €10K raised in just one week, but we’re not there yet!

If you feel you too can contribute this is so very, very much appreciated as there is still another €20k to raise!

But what can we do to ensure that they don’t have to face a situation like this ever again, let alone every month? Triple A needs 2,000 to people become yearly members at just €5 a month.

Up until last week there were just 280. Thanks to our community waking up to the cruel reality that Triple A can’t cope they have had over 70 new sign ups this week but that still leaves another 1,650 to go!

Can you be one of them?

Adopt a dog or cat if you can – All the cats and dogs in the rescue centre are photographed and can be viewed from the Triple A website.

Virtually adopt a dog or cat if you can’t (€15 a month gives you personalised updates, visiting rights and so much more).

Accompany an animal to the airport or on a flight as there are often more international adoptions than local ones.

Walk a dog on a Saturday – each animal needs exercise and without volunteers that’s not possible. This is a great way to help but also to meet like-minded people and make friends.

Donate supplies – Food supplies, blankets, towels are always welcome but bleach and cleaning materials and products are also important, as are office supplies.

Donate clothes and items for the Triple A events to be raffled and auctioned. Go to the Triple A events which are always fun, a great way to meet lovely people and help an animal at the same time (many being organised ‘as we speak’ so watch the Triple A Facebook page for further details!).

Help rehouse the animals by explaining to people that animals should not be bought in stores but adopted from rescue centres and shelters.

If you wish to organise an event or contribute to Triple A from an existing event please contact Lily at Lily4TripleA@ gmail.com, she’d love to hear from you!

We are an international community that will not be happy with the ‘obligatory’ dog pound, where animals are sacrificed after 10 days.

We want a rescue centre, our internationally recognised rescue centre; but if we want to keep Triple A, make no mistake, it IS up to us!
