THE mercury is set to rise across much of Spain this week as temperatures return to normal for the time of year.
The Valencian Country is likely to see maximum highs of 28-30°C during the early part of the week, with similar values predicted for the costas in Murcia and Andalucia, rising to a sizzling 32-36°C inland.
But rain is forecast in the north of the country including Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country, as well as in Cataluña, where a yellow alert has been issued for tomorrow (Monday) in Girona province, and the Balearic Islands.
The announcement from Spanish Met Office AEMET comes after recent unseasonal rains along the southern Mediterranean coast saw temperatures plummet.
