AFTER being contacted by a farmer in Guadalajara, officers of Seprona, the conservation arm of the Guardia Civil discovered a young injured eagle owl.
The bird was dazed and confused, unable to move and after being taken in hand by an expert officer, it was found to have a badly injured left wing and also showed signs of dehydration.
The injured owl was taken to the Wildlife Recovery Centre at the Guadalajara Zoo for treatment and a period of rehabilitation before it could be released back into the wild.
This is the second injured owl discovered and treated in the past few weeks following a similar discovery in the nearby town of Sacecorbo.
