The Circle

The Circle (2017) stars Emma Watson as Mae Holland, a young woman who lands a dream job at The Circle: an isolated technological complex shaped like a giant circle founded by Tom Stenton (Patton Oswalt) and Eamon Bailey (Tom Hanks).  Though enticed by the company benefits, Holland eventually begins to unravel The Circle’s true mission whose transparency transpires as a system with an immoral, wicked agenda.

Based on a novel by Dave Eggers, The Circle is aesthetically impressive merging present and future technologies in a world where the digital and physical overlap. Simple yet sophisticated, the film recreates a modern Big Brother world where employees are pressured into conformity, social acceptance is paramount and every move is under scrutiny.

Featuring a strong cast and a wonderful blend of reality and possibility, The Circle leaves you contemplating the dangers of a world increasingly powerless to technological supremacy and control.
