THE discovery of a dead British couple in Manilva, Malaga province, yesterday (Thursday) has sparked a police probe after initial tests suggested they died over two weeks ago.
Investigators found the victims’ bodies in two separate rooms of their home after being alerted by a neighbour who had received a call from their UK-based son.
They have not yet been named, but a police spokesperson said that the man was aged 71 and the woman 80, and that the corpses were in “an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting that they died at least 15 days ago.”
The woman was reportedly face down in a bedroom and was fully clothed, while her husband lay in the living room and was partially naked, with the house locked from the inside.
Detectives said that there were no obvious signs of violence, and are confident that a post mortem examination will reveal the cause of death.
