SPV hit Le Mans

Final Preparations

COSTA DEL SOL-BASED racing outfit SPV Racing made its second appearance in this season’s Michelin Le Mans Cup last weekend and fulfilled the first part of a dream while doing so.

This time, the team took part in two 55-minute races comprising the Road to Le Mans round, with their Ligier JS P3 racing alongside GT and other LMP3 cars around the 13.6km Circuit del la Sarthe in front of 250,000 spectators on the morning of the greatest endurance race in the world, the famous 24 Heures du Mans.

In qualifying, SPV finished a disappointing 32nd place in the first session, but after some tweaks managed a fine sixth position in the second.

With almost 50 entrants, the races were bound to be busy as SPV found to their detriment in the first after failing to complete the full 13 laps, agonisingly dropping out on the twelfth for a 38th place finish.

In the second race, the stunning bright yellow car with Euro Weekly News livery on the wings performed better, not only completing the distance but passing the chequered flag in a respectable 23rd spot.

The team now move onto round three which takes place from 21-22 July at the mighty Red Bull Ring in Austria.

All races are available on Gol TV in Spain, BT Sport in the UK and all over Europe on Motor Trend and Motorsport.tv.
