Fuengirola train station
RENFE has announced there will be no more cancellations on the Malaga to Fuengirola train route.
The head of the Andalucia branch of the train company, Julian Fernandez Muriana, has assured commuters that the changes in schedule were due to nothing more than “unforeseeable complications”.
Renfe has sourced extra train drivers from other provinces to cope with the busiest train route in Andalucia.
During a press conference a spokesperson said the cancellation of 72 trains in eight days was due to two drivers falling ill at the same time, and three others having to take temporary medical leave.
