More cancellations on the Malaga-Fuengirola train route as Renfe struggle to find holiday staff

RENFE is struggling to keep to its busy schedule on the Costa del Sol due to shortages in staff as the summer season starts in earnest.

Despite being much busier than neighbouring Sevilla, Malaga receives less funding and less personnel to cope with the extra workload.

The General Secretary of Adif-Renfe, Bartolome Muñoz said: “We knew this was coming. Workers gave up their holidays to try and keep to the schedule but we are being stretched too thin.”
