Europe's most wanted
A SWISS conman has been arrested in Torremolinos thanks to information received by officers of the National Police from ENFAST
The European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST) network lists some of Europe’s most wanted criminals and allows police authorities to exchange information.
This individual had previously been involved in the illegal removal of funds from Spanish and Swiss bank accounts and had been arrested in Spain and deported to Switzerland where he was convicted and jailed.
On the occasion of his first approved absence from jail, he absconded and the Swiss authorities believing that he had returned to Spain asked the National Police to assist in tracking him down.
Officers soon found his current whereabouts and when they arrested him, discovered that he was carrying false identity papers and a number of bank cards with different names.
He is now due to be returned to the Swiss authorities.
