Helping to make sick children a little happier

The announcement of the amount raised

A VERY special evening at the Sunset Beach Club Benalmadena saw €11,290.80c raised and shared between three children’s charities.

A sell-out audience each paid just €10 to attend a concert featuring the talents of the irrepressible Ricky Lavazza and the delightful Nikki Rae who between them sang their hearts out with numerous changes of style and clothes for more than three hours.

The evening which also celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the Club was held at the Moonlight Bar on the complex and the management of the Club kindly offered to match all money raised on a euro for euro basis.

Guests were invited to buy tickets for a raffle which had a number of exceptional prizes including two €500 furniture vouchers, the generous donation of Oak Land Furniture SL Managing Director Steve Day.

There had been such a demand for tickets to the show that the usual dance floor at the Moonlight had shrunk but even then, some hardy types managed to dance to the music of the two talented singers.

The important result was that each of the three nominated charities, Debra Butterfly Children, Make-A-Wish Spain and Barretstown which was founded by Paul Newman, each received a cheque for €3,763.60c and the audience eventually left knowing that not only had they seen a spectacular show but they had done their bit to help raise funds for ill children.
