COCAINE: Almost one kilo in 96 stomach capsules

A BRAZILIAN man was detained at Malaga Airport after trying to smuggle almost a kilogram of cocaine to the Costa del Sol, hidden in capsules inside his body.

The 27-year-old had swallowed 96 small packets, each containing around 10 grams of the Class A drug.

Security agents at customs control were immediately suspicious of the traveler, and his point of origin in South America.

He was taken from the airport to nearby medical facilities and given a radiological exam which uncovered the capsules languishing in his digestive system.

A subsequent evaluation found the capsules to contain cocaine and he was immediately arrested. The man also possessed $1,000 and €500 in bills.
