A BRITISH fugitive has been arrested at his Alicante home on allegations he repeatedly raped his two step-sisters in a historic catalogue of sexual abuse.

National Police arrested the 49-year-old, who has not been named, at his home in Jacarilla when officers served a European Arrest Warrant.

In a statement, police said both victims became pregnant as teenagers. One had an abortion and fled the family home, the other bore a son.

The man is said to have raped the girls on up to 18 occasions, starting in 1973 when he was 16 and his victim 12. When she escaped to live with her grandmother, the man began abusing her elder sister.

Police said the arrested man’s father concealed his son’s alleged crimes for years and advised he flee to Spain.

However, once the parent died, the victims went to the police to make statements about their suffering and the British authorities issued a warrant for his arrest.
