Missing couple safely back home in Malaga

THE couple from Axarquia who fled from family members in Dubai have returned to Malaga safely.

Maria Jimena Rico and her partner, Shaza Ismail, escaped to Turkey through Georgia where they were arrested by police for not having any documentation.

With the help of the Spanish consulate, the pair were eventually released and put on a flight to Barcelona, where they were picked up by friends and taken to Miss Rico’s mother’s house in Torrox.

The 28-year-old told news outlets she was “very tired” upon arriving in Axarquia and would call a press release at a later date.
