IN June 2016 the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) the body that oversees sports drug testing suspended the Spanish agency AEPSAD.

According to Wada at that time, the Spanish agency based in Madrid was not complying with international standards and therefore results of blood and urine tests could not be relied on.

Now, after much discussion and inspections, it has now been announced that the Agencia Espanola de Proteccion de la Salud en el Deporte had upgraded its procedures and may once again resume all of its anti-doping activities with immediate effect.
