CONVENIENT: TRAM Alicante is providing an alternative to parking in the city

TRAM Metropolitano de Alicante is extending its services from Wednesday April 12 to Friday 14.

Trams on L-2 (Luceros-Sant Vicent del Raspeig), L-3 (Luceros-El Campello) and L-4 (Luceros-Plaza La Coruña) will operate for longer in a bid to aid mobility during Holy Week.

In addition, the last trains on Line 1 (Luceros-Benidorm) departing from Benidorm will not terminate in Poble Espanyol, but will continue on to Luceros.

These special services are part of measures to improve the service provided by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) to users of Metrovalencia and TRAM Alicante.

The objective of FGV is to provide its users with fast and comfortable public transport they can use to access Alicante and attend the processions held in the centre.

From Wednesday to Friday, in addition to the usual trams, Line 2 will travel from Luceros to Sant Vicent del Raspeig from 10.08pm to 02.18am, and on the reverse route from 10.42pm to 2.48am.

On Line 3, special services from Luceros to El Campello will begin at 9.49pm and conclude at 3.18am, while trams from El Campello to the city centre will start at 9.12pm, finishing at 12.11am.

On Line 4, the scheduled service will start from Luceros to Plaza La Coruña at 10.59pm, finishing at 1.59am. The reverse route will run from 11.02pm to 2.28am.

Line 1 will now depart from Benidorm at 10.35pm, 10.55pm and 11.25pm, continuing to Luceros.

FGV is hoping that residents and tourists alike will use the services and avoid the parking problems affecting the centre of Alicante during Semana Santa.

More information on the extended services can be obtained by telephone on 900 72 04 72 or at the website
