Announcing the signing

FORMER footballer Michel Salgado who played for Real Madrid for 10 seasons and became captain before moving to Blackburn Rovers has returned from his adopted home in Dubai to become Sports Director of Gibraltar United.

Salgado who played 53 times for Spain and is married to Malula Sanz, daughter of former Real Madrid president Lorenzo Sanz indicates that he is looking forward to this new challenge as he tries to help the Gibraltar club win its league and gain qualification to the UEFA Champions league.

Clearly his involvement will raise the profile of the club whilst at the same time, giving Salgado experience which he may use to find a job in La Liga at some time in the future.
