Plane’s emergency landing on AP7 slip road near Barcelona

A SINGLE-ENGINE four-seater aircraft being piloted by two experienced flyers developed an engine fault soon after taking off from an airport in the Barcelona area and with insufficient time to return, it had to make an emergency landing.

Drivers on the AP7 were surprised to say the least when the aircraft made a perfect landing on the narrow slip road to the service station at Cardedeu and because of the precision of the landing, no problems other than amazement were experienced by drivers on the motorway.

The slip road was closed whilst fuel was removed from the aircraft by the emergency services and the aircraft was then dismantled and driven back to the airport for investigation by technicians.
