AFTER the Local Police in Jaen stopped a van and discovered a street seller carrying 265 clearly fake designer sports clothes and trainers, the matter was handed over to the National Police who initiated a major enquiry.
During questioning of the trader, he admitted that the goods had come from a warehouse in an industrial estate situated in Armilla in Granada so the officers decided that they would visit the establishment.
Upon arrival, they discovered three interconnecting rooms, the first displaying goods that were available and the other two storing boxes of trainers and upon investigation they discovered that underneath lightly affixed ‘innocent’ logos were fake logos of high priced designer brands.
After arresting the proprietor of the warehouse, a Chinese National, they removed 4,226 pairs of the counterfeit trainers.
