Italian drug fugitive arrested in Valencia

ACTING at the request of the Italian authorities, officers of the Guardia Civil investigated the possible whereabouts of an individual who was wanted by the Italian courts for his involvement in the smuggling of cocaine into Italy.

It appeared that this individual had fled Italy in 2014, as a number of his contacts were being arrested, and using faked ID travelled to Spain where he was thought to be in the general area of Valencia.

After a great deal of research, officers determined that a man who appeared to match the wanted man’s description could be living in an isolated residence in Canals in Valencia so after keeping a close eye on his movements, he was arrested and although he presented different identification, fingerprints taken at the time of his arrest proved that he was indeed the Italian fugitive.
