THE NEW School of Music and Dance of Almuñécar has been opened, occupying a brand new 2000 square metre building in front of the city’s health centre.
After almost seven years, this long-awaited project has finally come to fruition, and from the month of March it will host dozens of local music and dance groups. The project reached its final stages in 2014 when the city’s Mayor, Trinidad Herrera, agreed a deal with Spain’s national Government to finish the school. In total Almuñécar City Council invested €1,070,000 to ensure completion.
The new building hosts significant improvements over the original, including soundproofing for music rehearsals.
