A FICTITIOUS company, set up in Tomellosso, Ciudad Real was investigated by the combined forces of the Guardia Civil, the Labour Inspection and Social Security of Ciudad Real and the National Police resulting in the arrest of 19 people.
The investigation started, when the local authorities determined that, with 25 supposed workers, the company had incurred a €214,000 debt in respect of unpaid social security contributions.
It then transpired that the supposed workers had been claiming unemployment benefit to the value of €130,000 with the result that 12 Spaniards, six Romanians and one Ecuadorian have been arrested.
