Meryl Streep

THREE times Oscar winner Meryl Streep is furious with designer Karl Lagerfeld after he accused her of not choosing to wear a Chanel dress to the Oscars as she was being paid to wear a dress from another fashion house.

According to the actress, the statement made by the eccentric designer was quickly picked up globally and the fact that he has now apologised and withdrawn the statement has not compensated for the fact that he has tarnished the excitement that she was feeling having received her unsurpassed 20th nomination for an Oscar

Now 67 and no stranger to controversy for recent outspoken comments about President Trump, Ms Streep is in the running for a best actress award for her portrayal of a deluded and often flat opera singer in Florence Foster Jenkins.
