Altea tap water declared safe to drink

TAP water in Altea has been deemed safe for human consumption. All the recent restrictions have now been lifted.

In January the town council urged residents not to drink the water due to increased turbidity provoked by the winter rains.

Water entering the Guadalest reservoir contained too much suspended material for safe consumption.

A similar problem affected the area following the bad weather at the end of December.
