New uniforms for Benalmadena volunteers

THE Benalmadena councillor for Security, Javier Marin congratulated and thanked volunteer members of the local Civil Protection Unit as they celebrated the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes.

“I thank you on behalf of the corporation for your help and always coming forward following any appeal,” said Marin as he gave examples of the dedication and professionalism of the group especially when called on to search for missing hikers or when there is a natural disaster.

As he presented the group with new uniforms provided by the local council, he stressed the importance of ongoing training in such fields as first aid, firefighting, coping with disasters and marine problems.
