HAVING been one of the most successful coaches ever for Malaga FC, Chilean born Manuel Pellegrini returned to the Costa del Sol in advance of players from his new club Hebei China Fortune FC who will be training in Marbella.

Following his time at the Malaga club, he moved to Manchester City, where his team won the League Cup and Premier League in his first season, but his sojourn in the UK was cut short when Pep Guardiola became available.

Very shortly after leaving Manchester City, it was announced that he had agreed to become head coach of relatively newly formed Hebei China Fortune who play in the Chinese Super League in the comparatively isolated town of Qinhuangdao.

It is therefore understandable that he should want to bring his team, which includes former Arsenal player Gervinho and Argentine international Ezequiel Lavezzi, to a Spanish speaking area for some intensive training prior to the opening of the new Chinese season at the end of February.

Training at the Marbella Football Centre and playing a number of exhibition matches, the entire team will be enjoying the facilities at the luxury hotel at which they are staying and it will give a chance for new signings from Africa and Brazil to get to know their teammates.
