UNDERWAY: Resurfacing of Avenida Alcalde Clemente Diaz.
FUENGIROLA will receive a €6 million boost to improve local infrastructure during the first quarter of 2017, the town council has announced.
The money will be used to fund a variety of projects, some of which are already underway.
Calle Teresa Zabell and Avenida Alcalde Clemente Diaz are being completely resurfaced and the Los Naranjos park renovated.
Other jobs on the list include repairs to the Fuengirola Skate Park, creation of a roundabout on Calle Castaños, resurfacing of Calles Jaen and Antonio Sedeño Cantis, completion of the seafront walkway near the castle, and building a child’s play area near the beach in Carvajal district.
In addition to the aesthetic improvements, the expenditure has also benefited the local jobs market, with 25 new jobs having been created.
