TWELVE fishermen had to be rescued when their vessel sank off the northern coast of Spain.
The cause is not yet known but all members of the crew are suffering from severe hypothermia and have been transferred to two hospitals.
Seven of the crew were taken to a hospital in Asturias and the other five were sent to a hospital in Galicia.
Three helicopters and three lifeboats were launched after distress signals were sent at around 3pm local time.
According to the regional newspaper El Comercio, the boat was also known to have had engine trouble last December.
