BABY CARLOTA: The mayor and council members presented the newborn with a basket and other gifts.
VELEZ-MALAGA’S mayor, Antonio Moreno Ferrer, along with other members of the council, have met with Francisco Pastor and Elisabeth Díaz, the parents of the first baby born this year in Andalucia, who they have named Carlota.
The mayor and other council members presented the newborn, who is resident in Caleta de Velez, with a basket and various other gifts.
The mayor expressed his best wishes to the couple, wishing “Carlota to grow up well and healthy.”
Moreno Ferrer also informed the couple that once works on the Centre for Early Childhood Education are completed in Caleta de Vélez, which began at the end of last month, a tree will be planted in the area that will bear her name.
Carlota Pastor Díaz was born in the Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquia de Velez-Malaga, on January 1 of this year at midnight, weighing just over three kilos and measuring 49 centimetres.
