AN international manhunt has found a well-known criminal accused of the manslaughter of one man and the wounding of another in Macedonia.

The 30-year-old Serbian identified as LD was wanted by the Spanish authorities for the manslaughter nine years ago of an Indian citizen and the wounding of his brother who was trying to defend him.

This young individual was known to have been involved in a number of robberies with violence in Spain and held four false identity documents before fleeing the country.

Officers from the Guardia Civil with the assistance of Interpol traced this person across Europe and a Spanish court asked for assistance from the authorities in Albania, Germany, Macedonia, Sweden and Switzerland in trying to apprehend him.

He was eventually found to be in the Macedonian capital Skopje, carrying yet more false identification and was arrested.

Officers from the Guardia Civil in Alicante worked with their Central Control Unit and Interpol in this particular case.
