Search for English grandfather missing in Benidorm

MISSING: Allen Varley.

A FAMILY have launched a desperate search for a grandfather who vanished mysteriously in Benidorm on Thursday, January 5.

Allen Varley has now been missing for almost a week having last been seen at around 9pm, having left his relatives to use the toilet in the Ambassador Playa Hotel.

He was wearing a red-patterned shirt, black trousers and shoes.

Allen is said to suffer from depression and was on holiday with his wife Sue.

His nephew, Carl Varley, told the Hull Daily Mail: “My uncle suffers with depression. He was on medication but he had been feeling gloomy for about five or six days.

“They were out at a bar and my aunt got up to go to the toilet. Allen followed her and they assumed it was because he was going to the toilet too.

“Sue came back and Allen didn’t. He was nowhere to be found.”

A police search has been launched, and if you have any information regarding Allen’s whereabouts please contact Benidorm Police on +34 966 831 936, reference number 267/17.

Can I please thank all the volunteers who have been out delivering fliers and raising awareness on the dissapeatance of my Uncle Allen. We still have no positive sightings or news of any sort. It’s been the worst week of all of Allens families lives but we must keep going and not give up hope. I urge you all to please keep your eyes open for Allen in and around Benidorm. We will never give up on him.
