CHRISTMAS CHEER: Was spread with decorations and carol singing.
THE Denia hospital and medical centres donned Christmas decorations to help poorly patients feel more festive.
The Department of Health for Denia ensured that each medical facility had trees, a crib and garlands to welcome their patients with special menus and carol singing also organised.
In a special art area of the hospital an exhibition entitled ‘a curative prescription’ was opened which shows the works carried out throughout 2016 by the patients in the art workshops from the various hospital units.
The Salvation Army of Denia, sang carols for those who could not be home for Christmas and the kitchen staff dished up a very seasonal menu with plans to do the same for New Year’s Eve.
Volunteers from the postal service in Ondara have arranged to be at the hospital the first week of January so that the children admitted to the Paediatrics ward will be able to write a letter to the Three Kings. At the end of the day they will receive gifts from the volunteers.
The closing ceremony of the hospital Christmas celebrations will be carried out by the Festival Commission of Denia, with the visit of His Majesties Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, who will not only visit, but bring gifts for children and adults admitted on January 6.
