THE storm is officially over. In one of the worst storms to hit the Valencia and Murcia Regions in years and one that cost the lives of four people, the Emergency Coordination Center has ordered the end of all weather alerts.
The news came as Interior Minister Juan Ignacio Zoido, travelled to Orihuela to visit the areas affected as the government debated whether to officially class the city as an “area seriously affected by emergency.”
Mayor of Orihuela, Emilio Bascuñana, said they have been working on the removal of vehicles around the Teatro Circo and the Barrio San Pedro, while all technicians have been working in the areas of greatest need. Four residents of the Mariano Cases district also remain in a shelter, affected by the flooding.
