British man killed in Fuengirola bar brawl

DETECTIVES in Fuengirola have launched a murder investigation after a British man was killed in a bar fight on December 8. The incident occurred in Calle Castillo, right at the heart of the Vila Blanca at around 11.30pm.

The Daily Mail have named the dead man as 42-year-old Nadeem Aslam.

Spanish reports suggest that the victim was accompanied by another Brit and that the two had been refused entry to “other establishments” prior to the brawl.

After the owner of the bar also baulked at serving them, the sozzled pair began to push and shove him, with a client leaping to his aid.

Eyewitnesses have described how the victim died after taking a heavy punch to the back of the neck as the two men exchanged blows. He crashed to the ground, hitting his head off the concrete and died moments later despite desperate attempts to revive him by police officers.

The man who struck him quickly scarpered from the scene leaving no trace and forcing police to depend on witness testimonies, but investigators arrested a 34-year-old Polish man on Tuesday, December 13.

He was apparently barricaded in his home and refused to leave, even threatening to commit suicide, leading to a tense few hours of negotiation before he have himself up.
