La Sala Banus celebrated a surprise transformation to the city’s top celebrity nightspot in time-honoured fashion, with a party.

After closing for a week last month, the changes were officially unveiled with the venue promising fresh entertainment acts, and improvements to the “ultimate social and dining experience”.

The newly refurbished Live Lounge offers both the dining experience and the chance to enjoy top-class acts while dancing the night away.

The company prides itself on value for money wrapped up in a package of unrivalled service and entertainment and has deservedly become the “hottest table in town”.

One well-known travel blog dubbed it the “happening place in Marbella”.

La Sala boasts live music seven nights a week and nine different areas to drink and dine.

The new bigger stage is aimed, the company says, at “bringing our shows to a whole new level.”

This has made it into one of the busiest restaurants in the region, an accolade it retains throughout the year, not just during the height of the tourist season.

The group tasked with the work, the FOC Design team, changed the exterior by putting in teak decking and pergolas to provide diners with that all-important shade.

The floorplan was changed to allow extra seating while maintaining the essential ambience of the venue, and in the Piano Room new chandeliers have been installed.

The stage has been designed to be retractable to allow much more space when not in use.

Every year La Sala welcomes a number of celebrities among its guests and recently this has included singer and charity fund-raiser Ronan Keating, the chef and campaigner Jamie Oliver, in addition to footballers such as ex-England full back Ashley Cole, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chris Coleman.

Live entertainment was provided on the night by the six-piece Jackie Brown Band plus the Masquerade Duo.
