A taste of luxury

White truffles specialties are on the menu at Cibo Italiano in Marbella this December in the lead up to Christmas. It’s an experience and taste sensation not to be missed.

Dishes with the white truffle will allow you to experience one of the world’s great delicacies. “The truffle has a short season but 2016 has produced a fantastic harvest, so what can in lean years cost up to €6,000/kg is now nearer the €2,000 mark,” says the Executive Chef, Lorenzo Otterburn, who has flown in premium white and black Trefola d’Alba Madonna truffles fresh from Italy.

Officially known as the Magnatum Pico, the truffle was discovered in the Middle Ages, when it was believed to have been created by lightning. It rose to fame during the Renaissance, and has been a delicacy fit for kings since the 17th century, becoming a cornerstone of quality Italian cuisine.

“Italians love it freshly ground on fried eggs – a cultured variation on a Full English – and the Russians are launching a truffle infused Vodka called Black Moth, but we believe it is best served with buttered pasta or risotto. Belissimo!” Come and try it for yourself, you’ll see what we mean!

Cibo Italiano is located at number 11 Av. Bulevard Principe Alfonso Von Hohenlohe, Marbella, and can be contacted by telephone on 952 90 03 80, or via their website www.cibomarbella.com.
