94-year-old Frenchman killed by charging ram

A RAM protecting its flock killed a 94-year-old man, after knocking him down and trampling over him in south-west France.

The man’s body was found on Monday in a field in Cestas which he took a short cut across as he went to meet the farmer. He had sustained extreme bruising on his head and face. 

There are reports that the ram was notorious in the local community, but the farmer claimed he is unaggressive and was simply protecting the ewes. 

A local politician who went to the scene afterwards was, however, charged at and injured by the ram, who will now be put down.
