GAS LEAK: At least one man has died at the Northampton brewery.
A MAN in his 40s has died and another 22 were taken to hospital following a gas leak at a Carlsberg factory in Northampton on Wednesday (November 9), the company has reported.
Eleven members of staff, nine firefighters and two police officers had to be rushed to hospital after emergency services were alerted to the incident at 12.30pm and a 51-year-old employee remains in a serious but stable condition.
Chief executive officer for Carlsberg UK Julian Momen explained that an investigation into the incident was underway and expressed the company’s sadness at the accident.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesperson confirmed that the police force is working with the Health and Safety Executive to find out exactly what went wrong.
