HUNDREDS of African migrants clashed with Spanish police at the country’s imperial outpost in Ceuta as they tried to cross the border from Morocco on October 31.
Dozens were treated for injuries after the violence while some made it across the fence and are now being hunted by Spanish authorities. Three local policemen also sustained injuries.
The incident comes despite beefed up security at the border and its counterpart in Spain’s other African enclave in Melilla. Both have been targeted for years by African migrants determined to reach bureaucratic Europe and claim asylum.
