Harmony of the Seas stopped off.
MALAGA Port registered its busiest day of the year (Wednesday October 26) as four huge cruise ships with capacity for more than 13,000 passengers stopped off for the day.
The largest of the four, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas, which can carry up to 6,500 passengers, spent from 7am to 6pm in Malaga, providing plenty of time for those on board to explore the city.
Next into port at 8am was the Oosterdam, belonging to Holland America Line and with space for up to 1,848 people and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Braemar with capacity for 977 passengers arrived an hour later.
Last but definitely not least came the second largest ship of the day, MSC Cruceros’ MSC Splendida, with a maximum capacity for 3,959 passengers which arrived at 10.30am.
Its excellent transport connections, recent revival and proximity to the Costa del Sol’s tourist attractions are making Malaga City an increasingly popular stop off point for cruises.
