Police arrest brother over death of woman in Torremolinos

Police have arrested the brother of a woman after her body was found at a house in Torremolinos. Detectives said there were signs of violence related to an argument between the pair during which it appeared that the victim was hit over the head with an iron and later strangulated.

The body of the woman, who has not been named, was found at about 5.30pm on Sunday October 23 by her infant son.

After carrying out house-to-house inquiries and taking statements from neighbours, officers arrested the victim’s brother, a 49-year-old Moroccan male, around three hours later.

The brother frequently travelled to the town to visit his sister and nephew and according to neighbours and local sources, it seems that the relationship between the siblings turned sour when the victim expressed concern about the life her brother was living back in Morocco.
