The future is here Cryotherapy style

CRYOTHERAPY CHAMBER: Claims to speed up injury recovery times.

THE concept of subjecting the body to short bursts of extreme cold to aid its healing processes has arrived in Marbella. The city’s first whole body cryotherapy chamber has arrived at the Dynamic Gym in the Le Village Commercial Centre, just off the Golden Mile.

Scientists have long known that exposing parts of the body to periods of extreme cold can aid circulation and reduce inflammation. In the chamber the entire body is subjected to very low temperatures for a period of up to three minutes.

Paul Francis of Cryotherapy Marbella, said, “Think of the concept of an ice bath, or putting ice on a bump or a bruise. “Cryotherapy is a dry technique which reaches much colder temperatures. A short session achieves much better results and is much more comfortable than a prolonged soak in an ice bath.”

The company says it has seen improvements in people suffering from conditions such as psoriasis, and chronic fatigue, and that it speeds up recovery times for sports injuries.

There are also claims it can help with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and other chronic disorders. “People love the energy it gives them. We’d encourage everyone to come and give it a try,” said Paul.

Proponents of Cryotherapy are said to include footballers Jamie Vardy and Cristiano Ronaldo, along with stars such as Justin Bieber, Demi Moore, and Daniel Craig.
