Katie Edwards was stabbed in the neck at her home in Spalding in Lincolnshire in April.
A girl of 15 has been found guilty of murdering a mother and daughter at their home in Lincolnshire. Elizabeth Edwards and her 13-year-old daughter Katie were stabbed to death at their Spalding home in April.
A 15-year-old boy had admitted a charge of murder before the start of proceedings at Nottingham Crown Court. Neither the boy nor the girl can be named but she had denied murder before pleading guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
The court was told the pair had carefully planned the murders and then intended to commit suicide after the killings. Mrs Edwards was stabbed eight times and her daughter twice in the neck.
Police said the impact of their deaths had “left a number of lives in ruins”. The boy and the girl, who was 14 at the time of the killngs, will be sentenced at a future date.
