SPAIN’S extended summer is about to come to an abrupt end, with heavy rainfall and plummeting temperatures forecast across the peninsula on Wednesday, October 12.
This may put something of a dampener on the Hispanic Day and Armed Forces Day celebrations which are due to take place throughout Spain and include an enormous military parade on Madrid.
A cold front which will accompany the wet weather hit northwest Spain on Tuesday and is due to move south and east over the next 24 hours, with temperatures predicted to drop between six and 11 degrees.
Meteorlogical Agency Aemet have confirmed that they expect the Costa del Sol, Costa Tropical and Costa de Almeria, all of which are currently suffering drought-like conditions, to receive some welcome rain over the next 48 hours.
The first major snowfall is also expected to hit the Sierra Nevada in Granada.
