AUTUMN is coming, bringing with it a new season of ‘in fashion’ colours for the home which have left behind serene blues and quartz pinks and take on a darker, warmer feel.
Spanish decorators this season are going for aubergines and blacks combined with white or neutral colours with metallic accessories to create new atmospheres as summer is left behind.
Lounges in particular are going to feel warm and luxurious this autumn with deep aubergine walls and velvet sofas adorned with cushions in tones of purple.
Velvet is making a real comeback with lots in the shops in greens and blues combined with neutral shades.
Bedrooms meanwhile are taking two different directions with light coloured walls contrasting with dark bedding to enfold sleepers in their comforting clutches on the one hand, and cheerful blues, greens and mauves keeping the summer feeling going on the other.
Metallic tones are also bursting into homes this autumn, this special emphasis placed on matte finishes and tableware, in preparation for Christmas, is taking on luxurious golden hues.
