ALMUÑECAR TOURIST OFFICE: One of the groups of visiting tourists.
ALMUÑECAR and La Herradura enjoyed a successful end to the peak summer season, as continued good weather saw hotels and rental properties full to bursting point.
The Almuñecar tourist office, located in the Palacete de la Najarra, received a number of groups of visiting tourists from the Organizacion Nacional de Ciegos Españoles (ONCE), the Spanish national society for the blind.
Other groups came from as far afield as Galicia, Navarra, and Castila y Leon, among others, while a large gaggle of 50 English tourists enjoyed the aroma of tropical fruits as they toured the gardens and historical monuments in the grounds of the Palacete.
The weekly market has also become a popular choice among foreign residents from neighbouring towns, who are attracted by the atmosphere of the sexitano coast.
At La Herradura, divers and beachgoers have been enjoying the clear and calm waters as summer draws to a lazy close, with a warm autumn in the offing.
