Family caught up in street battle on Ibiza

A BRITISH family who had just arrived on the party island of Ibiza were attacked and robbed in San Antonio.

The 52-year-old father and his 25-year-old twin sons were walking through the west end district of the popular resort when they were confronted by a gang of West African men brandishing knives and broken bottles.

Once the fracas was in full swing the shirtless Brits used chairs to defend themselves as shocked tourists looked on.

All three men required medical treatment once the scrimmage had subsided, and reports suggest that at least one was stabbed as their assailants grabbed a gold ring and a chain from another.

The dramatic battle occurred in the early hours of Thursday, September 22, and was captured on an onlooker’s mobile phone (see video below).

The footage was delivered to local police, who proceeded to arrest two men of Senegalese origin, who have been charged with violence, intimidation and theft.

There is some evidence to suggest that the family were caught up in an ongoing battle between two rival groups, while the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
