ALL of Alfaz del Pi’s municipal buildings and installations now have fibre optic interconnections.
Work was carried out in July and August when town halls have fewer matters to deal with and temporary hitches in communications would cause minimal inconvenience.
“Once we began a complete overhaul of our Data Processing Centre it was obvious that this would be incomplete unless all municipal buildings and the services they offer could be connected,” said New Technologies councillor Toni Such.
This has now been completed, with interconnections that are not only fast and efficient but above all, absolutely secure. “That should be one of the first things to bear in mind with a network of this kind,” Such added.
Glitches were not common in the past, the councillor said, but they have occasionally prevented municipal departments from dealing with citizens as rapidly and efficiently as the town hall would like.
Not only will enquiries be dealt with easily and quickly but, Such stressed once again, “with all the safety measures required in a delicate matter like data processing.”
